Step 4. Create a connection
To use most apps in Make, you first need to create a connection. Connections securely link Make to your external applications, allowing data to flow between them.
To create a connection to Google Sheets:
Click Create a connection.

Name your connection and click Sign in with Google.
Use your name or the Google account name you're connecting with to be able to recognize it later.

A Google sign-in window will open. Click Continue.

Follow the steps to authorize Make to access your Google account.
This authorization step is required so Make can access your spreadsheet data.

Once you've completed the authorization, it means your connection is created and you're now ready to configure your Google Sheets trigger module so it can watch for changes in the spreadsheet.

Connections are an essential part of Make scenarios. They allow your scenarios to get information from and send it to third-party applications. Different apps require different types of authentication — from simple username and password combinations to API keys or OAuth. When you create a connection to a new app, you can click the Online Help link to learn more about how to connect the selected app.

Once created, a connection is saved for future use. You can reuse the same connection in other scenarios that work with Google Sheets.
